Lessons
Well it's been just over a week since my last entry but it doesn't really matter because nobody that I know even knows about my blog. I guess I'll have to tell a few people and they can act like they're interested and maybe read it a couple of times and then go on about their lives! I don't really mean for that to sound bitchy but I'm also not ignorant enough to think that I can or will submit such compelling entries as to cause anyone to consistently want to read my blog.
Of course I'm still not even sure if I'm talking to myself, another person(s) or some imaginary entity. It reminds me of when I was a child and I tried to pray the way the Assembly of God wackos instructed me to but I always thought that I was really just talking inside my head! You know, I hadn't thought about that in many years but now it makes me realize that I was never going to be religious regardless of my sexual orientation. I simply couldn't & can't "believe" in "their" patriarchal, mono-theistic system of arbitrary laws. I do however believe with every fiber of my being that we are not equipped to understand the otherworldly forces that may act upon our lives and the best we can do in any given lifetime is to work towards enlightenment. I suppose this sounds somewhat like Eastern philosophy and I would be lying if I didn't admit that I lend more credibility to those types of belief systems.
In lieu of a god, I will appeal to whatever greater force is at play just now in the lessons that are Hurricane Katrina. I know that many are suffering and will continue to while others will actually fare better in new lives not previously imagined by themselves. Most of my concern is actually for the pets that have been abandoned and that is why I have contributed to the ASPCA to assist them in their efforts to save, care for and whenever possible reunite these animals with their humans.

Calm down there sparky, that's the nature of a blog. People can put their thoughts out there for others to read, but at the same time, through the magic of the internets, people can be lurkers. The key to blogging is to post constantly. You're doing a fine job, and if people don't reply... don't take it personally. /grin
